说到“晚睡”，很多人会直接翻译成sleep late
这就错得很离谱了
sleep late通常指：睡到很晚才起来
相当于“睡懒觉”
虽然有“懒”字，但英语表达中并没有lazy一词
I like to sleep late during weekends.
我喜欢在周末睡懒觉。
A: Don't sleep late,or you'll be late for work.
别睡懒觉了，要不你上班就迟到了。
B: I want to sleep for five more minutes.
我想再多睡五分钟。
“睡懒觉”也就是“起床起得晚”
还可以用get up late表示
If I get up late tomorrow,
I'll be late for school.
如果我明天起床晚了，上学就会迟到。
“sleep in”也是睡懒觉的意思
sleep in指“有意的、专门多睡一会儿”
而不是不小心起晚了、睡过头了
如果想表达“睡过了”，应该用动词 oversleep
Set your alarm clock, and you won't oversleep.
定好闹钟，这样就不会睡过头了。
此外：have a lie-in 也有同样的意思
You've got a day off, why not have a lie-in?
你已经请了一天假了，为什么不睡个懒觉呢？
而“晚睡”是很晚才睡觉，相当于“熬夜”
正确表达是stay up late
Many people stay up late at night,
which makes them feel tired during working hours.
很多人晚上熬夜,这使得他们在工作时间感到疲劳。
