今天我们来了解一下关于"结婚"的英语:
【1】 marry
说起"结婚", 不得不提的词就是"marry",值得注意的是, 当表示与某人结婚时, 直接用"marry sb" 就好了, 无须加介词。
例如:
She married a German.（√）She married to/with a German(×）她嫁给了一个德国人。除此之外, "与某人结婚"还可以用:
be/get married to sb例如:
She got married to a German.
【2】wed
与某人结婚是"wed sb"
例如:
He thought me too poor to wed his sister.他认为我太穷, 不配娶他的妹妹。"wed"的过去式和过去分词是:
wedded, wedded 或 wed, wed
【3】walk down the aisle
这个短语是指婚礼礼堂宾客之间的走廊, 走过这段就到了举行仪式的地方, 自然也就表示"结婚"。
Note:
这里的aisle很容易读错, 注意s不发音哟。
例如:
He was not in a hurry to walk down the aisle.他还不着急结婚。
【4】get hitched
"hitch"本意是指车辆的拖钩, 用get hitched表示两个人从此牵在了一起。
例如:
Johnson now has proposed to Anna and the two are set to get hitched next year.乔纳森已经向安娜求婚, 二人将于明年结婚。
【5】tie the knot
据说来历是因为婚床上的帐子必须用打结的绳子才能支起来~中文中通常译为"永结同心"。
例如:
I can't believe Jim is going to tie the knot! He seems too young to get married.我不相信吉姆准备结婚了。他看起来太年轻了。
